MIAMI – The academic accolades keep rolling in for the FIU Athletics Department, as a total of 78 student-athletes were awarded the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.
Winners were announced on Wednesday by conference officials.
Student-athletes awarded the Commissioner's Academic Medal must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher.
The beach volleyball team led the way for the Panthers with a total of 13 honorees.
Other team totals included baseball (10), women's soccer (10), women's cross country (9), women's track and field (8), softball (5), women's golf (4), football (4), volleyball (4), men's track and field (3), women's tennis (3), men's basketball (2), men's cross country (2) and women's basketball (1).
