The Florida Gators will bring in the New Year with sacks leader Jachai Polite no longer on the team.
Polite announced on Twitter Monday he is leaving early for NFL, not surprising for a 21-year-old projected to be a first-round draft pick in the 2019 NFL draft.
Polite finished 2018 with 11 sacks among his total of 18 tackles for loss. The 6-foot-2, 242-pound Polite registered two tackles for loss during the Gators’ 41-15 win in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
