UF QB Emory Jones pushed to capitalize on first offseason as Gators’ starter

GAINESVILLE — Emory Jones’ first offseason as Florida’s starting quarterback has been busy, rewarding and critical to the Gators’ chances in 2021.

Jones said he’s prepared his body, pushed to become a better leader a—nd rode herd on his receivers to shore up their individual weaknesses.

The day after name, image and likeness legislation became law on July 1, Jones staged a football camp for around 300 kids back home in Georgia. But rather than profit off NIL, Jones offered free admission to the camp held at Heard County High School in Franklin, Ga.

“I just wanted to get everybody there,” Jones told the Orlando Sentinel.
