Back home in Georgia, Trina Jones texts her son inspiring words as Emory Jones pushes to make his mark with the Gators.
“I send him a scripture. I send him something positive,” Trina Jones told the Orlando Sentinel. “Sometimes, he’ll beat me to it and tell me to attack the day. So, that’s how we go about it every morning.”
The routine began a few years ago when Jones was the odd man out in a QB crowded room and questioned whether UF was the right place at the right time for him. Those daily affirmations from Mom helped motivate her son, whose moment finally has arrived.
