GAINESVILLE — Week 1 arrived for UF Dan Mullen with a high degree of excitement, but also an overriding sense of relief.
The path ahead remains perilous. Yet, Saturday’s season-opening visit to Ole Miss is a start, albeit three weeks later than originally scheduled.
“It’s like Bizarro World, right? Like Bizarro Jerry if you ever saw that Seinfeld episode,” Mullen joked. “I’m like, this [is a] weird deal. I’ve never been this late in September [and] we haven’t played.”
“All the COVID stuff makes you anxious,” Mullen said. "You could sit here and on Thursday afternoon, say, ‘Hey, these 10 guys can’t play.
