Trevor Lawrence goes No. 1 to Jaguars, Kyle Pitts goes to Falcons at No. 4 and Alabama ties a mark in NFL Draft

Five quarterbacks went in the first 15 picks in Thursday’s first round. It started with Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, who became the fourth straight quarterback selected first when the Jacksonville Jaguars took him with the kickoff pick.

The second pick was also a quarterback, with the New York Jets going with BYU’s Zach Wilson. Then the San Francisco 49ers selected North Dakota State’s Trey Lance third.

The last time the top three picks in the draft were quarterbacks was 1999 when Tim Couch (Cleveland), Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia) and Akili Smith (Cincinnati) were selected in back-to-back-to-back fashion.
