Treon Harris deserves credit for perseverance

Harris never seemed to look comfortable running Jim McElwain’s offense, and with the added competition at quarterback from Austin Appleby, Luke Del Rio and Feleipe Franks, it appeared Harris’ future at the position looked bleak at best.

Now, we know that he evidently agrees, as he is moving to wide receiver.

His position change creates some intrigue. He has a good knowledge of McElwain’s offense, even if he was ill-suited to run it. He has proven to be mobile and athletic; his legs helped the Gators far more than his arm. Harris would seem to have the skill set to be a slot receiver, and the change could be a good thing for Harris and the Gators.
