Super Bowl champion honored by officials in Ocala, Marion County

OCALA — Super Bowl 50 champion and Dunnellon native Lerentee McCray was honored Tuesday by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners and also by the Ocala City Council and Mayor Kent Guinn.

McCray is a Denver Broncos linebacker, former University of Florida Gator football standout and 2008 graduate of Dunnellon High School. He became the first Marion County graduate to both play in and win a Super Bowl as Denver defeated Carolina, by a score of 24-10, on Feb. 7.

McCray was joined for the celebrations by his mother, Sybil McCray, and girlfriend Natalie Ochana and their child, Lemaree McCray.
