Spring to action: UF's McElwain gets to restart game plan

Jim McElwain is an offensive-minded coach who was brought to Florida to breathe life into the Gators’ dull and dormant offense.

In the first half of his first season, it was evident McElwain had given the offense a pulse and had it moving in the right direction. But after he lost his starting quarterback after the sixth game, the Gators steadily regressed to their former form.

Now, heading into his second spring, McElwain is ready to hit the restart button with his offense.

Although no one at UF has confirmed Treon Harris is moving to wide receiver, it is apparent the Gators are going to have a new starting quarterback in 2016, one who is a more comfortable fit in McElwain’s pro-style offense.
