Eddie Jackson wasn’t sure he’d be able to play safety, but Alabama coach Nick Saban was adamant he could.
A cornerback who started 14 games for the Crimson Tide in his first two seasons, Jackson was asked to transition to safety before the 2015 season.
The result? Six interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns, including a pick in the Tide’s 45-40 victory over Clemson in the national championship game.
Despite already looking like a natural at safety last season, Jackson believes he’s much improved heading into his senior campaign.
“At first it was frustrating, learning the whole system over again, being on the other side,” Jackson said.
