No.3 Gators defeat Noles behind five run eighth inning

The Gators defeated FSU 9-5 in Tuesday’s midweek clash inside Dick Howser Stadium.

The Seminoles (12-9, 3-3 ACC) jumped all over the Gators (19-4, 2-1 SEC) early on, leading 5-1 after four innings of play.

Florida’s starter Tyler Nesbitt gave up three earned runs across 3.2 innings pitched while allowing five hits and two free passes.

RHP Fisher Jameson was the first Gator called out of the bullpen. The Lake Worth native didn’t record an out in his three batters faced, allowing one run, one hit, and two walks.

Nick Ficarrotta would clean things up for Jameson, tossing one inning, allowing one hit and one HBP while striking out two batters.
