Jim McElwain demands more from Gators' QB Luke Del Rio

GAINESVILLE — New Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio needed just two games to do something Tim Tebow never managed during his record-setting career.

Coach Jim McElwain was not impressed — or at least he did not act like it on Monday.

Del Rio's 320-yard day this past Saturday against Kentucky marked the most passing yards by a Gator since Chris Leak in 2004, but McElwain was more concerned about the yards Del Rio left on the field.

Three throws in particular perturbed McElwain.

Facing first-and-10 from the Kentucky 41-yard line late in the third quarter, Del Rio missed freshman receiver Freddie Swain long and low on a corner route.
