Growth of UF O-line could be the key to Gators' success

Practice had ended Thursday evening and Sanders Football Practice Field was deserted, other than a small huddle at the 50-yard line as the sun began to make its way to the horizon.

With the Aug. 24 season opener against Miami still months away, Hevesy’s fledgling offensive has no time to waste. During his 30-minute, “come-to-Jesus” meeting with his players, Dan Mullen’s longtime lieutenant made it clear the O-line had wasted a chance to improve.

Hevesy’s message?

“Just the O-line in general has to step up, from the young guys to the older guys,” redshirt freshman guard Chris Bleich said.
