Gators ink top priority: Jadan Baugh returns to UF after 1,000-yard season

GAINESVILLE — Florida star tailback Jadan Baugh has a new contract to kick off the new year, keeping the Gators’ 1,000-yard star rusher in the fold after Texas doggedly pursued him, the Orlando Sentinel has learned.

Re-signing Baugh was new coach Jon Sumrall’s top priority once UF hired him Nov. 30, a day after Baugh rushed for 266 yards on 38 carries during the Gators’ 40-21 season-ending rout of Florida State.

Baugh rushed for more yards against the Seminoles than anyone in school history, giving him 1,170 rushing yards in 2025 — the most at UF since DeLand’s Mike Gillislee in 2012.
