On the heels of Florida’s men’s basketball national championship, the Gators and head coach Todd Golden have agreed on a contract extension, athletic director Scott Stricklin announced on Tuesday. Golden’s contract now runs for the next six years and totals $40.5 million through March 31, 2031.
Golden, age 39, cut down the nets just three years into his tenure at Florida, helping UF earn its third national championship in program history and its first since 2007. Golden became the youngest coach in more than four decades to lead his team to a national championship (Jim Valvano, 1983, 37).
