GAINESVILLE – Florida Gators star receiver Antonio Callaway and quarterback Treon Harris will miss spring football for an undisclosed reason, UF coach Jim McElwain said during a news conference Wednesday.
McElwain said both players had not been with the team since January and declined to elaborate on the reason for their absence or a timeline for their potential return.
The coach said Callaway and Harris have been "doing schoolwork" and "they won't be with us during the spring. That'll be the last we'll talk about on that front."
When pressed whether the players were suspended, McElwain reiterated, "They haven't been here and that'll be the last we'll talk about it.
