GAINESVILLE — Florida coach Dan Mullen and placekicker Jace Christmann have reunited to fill the void created by the early departure of Evan McPherson to the NFL.
Christmann, a former Mississippi State kicker, announced Friday on Twitter he would join the Gators as a graduate transfer to play for his old coach.
“To Coach Mullen, and his staff, we started together, let’s finish together,” Christmann wrote on his Twitter account. “Time to get to work.”
The Gators also welcomed former Auburn defensive tackle Daquan Newkirk, a 6-foot-3, 317-pound graduate transfer who once starred at The First Academy in Orlando.
