Former title game MVP Chris Leak just accepted his first head coaching job.
Edgewater High is a big step below the SEC — where Leak served as a Gators assistant from 2013-2014 — but its also one of Florida’s biggest prep stops.
According to a tweet from Orlando.com’s Alicia Rose DelGallo, Leak will take over at the Class 7A school after padding his football resume for more than a decade.
He was the starting quarterback — with Tim Tebow waiting in the wings — on Florida’s 2006 national championship team, then played for the Chicago Bears, two Canadian League Football teams and a pair of Arena League teams before landing on Will Muschamp’s staff as a graduate assistant in 2013.
