After firing Billy Napier in mid-October, Florida fans debated replacements. Lane Kiffin, Marcus Freeman, James Franklin, and Jon Gruden topped most wish lists. But one analyst says a surprising candidate may emerge.
According to CBS sports analyst Tom Fornelli, the Gators may be looking into hiring Georgia Bulldogs defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann. Schumann has been with the Bulldogs since 2016 as the inside linebackers coach and was Kirby Smart’s first hire as head coach of the Bulldogs. In that role, he has coached the likes of Roquan Smith, Quay Walker, and Nakobe Dean, all of whom have had very solid starts to their NFL careers.
