The coaching carousel this season started turning extremely early as the first set of head coaches were fired in Week 3, with UCLA parting ways with Deshaun Foster and Virginia Tech firing Brent Pry. Since then, there have been 11 more head coaches fired, including Florida's Billy Napier, even after taking down Mississippi State on homecoming weekend.
The Gators know they need a homerun candidate to take over for Napier if this program wants to see success sooner rather than later. Since the beginning, Florida's sights have been set on Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, but so have LSU's, which fired Brian Kelly shortly after Napier was gone.
