FULLERTON, Calif. – No. 3 Florida outlasted New Mexico, 1-0, in extra innings and ousted No. 20 Oregon, 2-1, Thursday morning during the Judi Garman Classic at Anderson Family Field presented by USA Softball.
The Gators (20-1) won their first extra-inning game of the season when Jade Carawayroped a double to right center in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Lobos (5-10). Sophomore Natalie Lugo kept the New Mexico offense on its heels for seven innings as she tied her career-high with 13 strikeouts before she gave way to Kelly Barnhill (11-1) in the eighth inning.
