Florida Gators land cornerback Kaiir Elam, beat out Georgia for top-50 prospect

The Florida Gators ended National Signing Day in style, signing top cornerback Kaiir Elam.

The 6-foot-1, 182-pound Elam is the nation’s No. 48 overall prospect, and No. 6 cornerback, according to 247Sports.

The nephew of former Gators’ All-America safety Matt Elam, Kaiir Elam was a versatile, two-way player at the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach.

Elam totaled 48 tackles and eight interceptions the past three seasons, while catching 91 passes for 1,475 yards and 14 scores.

Elam’s signing will push the Gators’ 2019 class into the top 10 in the nation. UF opened the day ranked No.
