Florida football: Dan Mullen says Feleipe Franks out for the season

Following the 29-21 win over Kentucky in Lexington, Florida football head coach Dan Mullen said he believes quarterback Feleipe Franks is out for the season.

It means Kyle Trask and Emory Jones will likely compete or platoon as starting quarterback for the Gators this season.

Edgar Thompson, the Gators’ beat writer with the Orlando Sentinel, tweeted the news during the Mullen’s post-game news conference.

Franks went down with the injury in the third quarter as Florida football was facing fourth down.

After scrambling, Franks turned to go upfield but was cut down short of the first down.
