Despite being idle in week one the Florida Gators dropped two spots in the new USA Today Coaches’ Poll released on Tuesday.
The Gators’ first game of the season was moved up a week to kickoff the 150th season of college football. With the eyes of the college football world upon them the Gators’ 24-20 win over Miami was picked apart more than normal by the national media and the Gators, despite winning the football game, were heavily criticized for the fashion in which they won.
Week one of the football season was a doozy with Auburn coming back to win on Saturday night over Oregon, Tennessee losing to Georgia State, Mack Brown’s return to coaching resulted in a win over Will Muschamp and South Carolina and a slew of other upsets and nail bitters.
