Florida bests Vanderbilt despite slow start

There’s something about 11 a.m. in Nashville that leaves Florida’s offense flowing like molasses.

Two years ago, the Gators dug out of a 21-3 deficit two years ago. Saturday, Vanderbilt forced a game of catch-up against No. 6 Florida. Until the early second quarter, True freshman quarterback Ken Seals completed 11-12 passes for 157 yards, a touchdown and seven first downs.

The Commodores (0-7) executed play after play using a faster tempo to force defenders out of position. They would go on to finish with 406 total yards, 319 through the air, 21 first downs and 6 yards per play against the playoff-hopeful Gators (6-1).
