Another UF jump pass rekindles memories for former Gator Tate Casey

Former Gators’ tight end Tate Casey stood next to the south end zone of the Swamp, where a dozen years ago he and Tim Tebow made the play famous.

At the other of the field Saturday night, quarterback Feleipe Franks had just jump-passed his way into Gators’ lore, rekindling memories for many of the halcyon days of Florida football.

“Right off the bat, I got a big smile,” Casey told the Orlando Sentinel Sunday. “I laughed.”

In his new role as sideline reporter for the Gators’ IMG Sports Network, Casey had a front-row seat to UF’s 53-6 season-opening win against Charleston Southern.
