Four-star wide receiver Justin Watkins made his official visit to Florida this weekend. Evidently, Watkins liked it because he announced Saturday night that he was committing to the Gators.
Watkins (5 feet 11, 192 pounds), from Clermont (Fla.) East Ridge, is a top-25 receiver nationally as well as a top-125 prospect overall. He is the only receiver currently committed to Florida.
Florida remains in the hunt for four-star receivers Jacob Copeland and Warren Thompson, but neither is anything close to a lock. Thus, getting Watkins’ commitment at a position of need for the Gators was big.
