Florida men’s basketball coach Mike White’s six-year contract includes a $1 million buyout and performance bonuses similar to former coach Billy Donovan.
White’s contract, obtained through an open records request, pays the coach an average salary of $2 million over the length of the deal. But his buyout is twice the amount of Donovan’s, who paid $500,000 for leaving the Gators for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder in May of 2015.
Under terms of White’s buyout, the second-year coach has a window from March 15 to April 15 (or seven days after UF’s final postseason game) to notify the school that he’s leaving for another job.
