Florida Football: 3 Burning Questions Following Spring Football

There is plenty to be excited about after the Florida Gators' spring practice session, but there’s also some concerns that need to be address before the 2015 season gets going just over four months from now. Here’s 3 burning questions we have about Florida football following the spring session.

1. Is Alex McCalister Ready To Fill Dante Fowler's Shoes?

Former edge superstar Dante Fowler Jr. is currenly consensus top-five pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. While's that all well and good, it goes to show you just what Florida will be missing after he declared for the draft after his junior season. The onus now rests on redshirt sophomore Alex McCalister to approximate Fowler's 8.5 sacks and 15 tackles for a loss in 2014.

2. Is Treon Harris Ready To Take The Leap?

Harris showed flashes of his pure athleticism after replacing Jeff Driskel under center last season, but his 49.5% completion rate forced the Gators to run the ball a disproportionate amount of the time. If Treon can improve his accuracy and decision-making in the pocket, the entire offense will be the benefactor. If not, he could be out of the starting role by midseason.

3. What Exactly Are We In Store For Under Jim McElwain?

Former head coach Will Muschamp's conservative game-planning raised the ire of Gators fans across the board, which makes the hiring of Jim McElwain that much more refreshing for the denizens of The Swamp. Can he bring the wide-open offensive style of his Colorado State Rams teams to Gainesville? If he does so and does it successfully, he'll win over the fan base in quick fashion.
