Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley In Colorado To Interview CSU HC Jim McElwain

Florida AD Jeremy Foley probably thought he could make his trip to Colorado and talk to coaching candidate Jim McElwain under the radar...but some very observant Gators fans had other ideas.

Foley's flight was being tracked by fans as soon as it left Gainesville (most private and commercial flights are trackable via sites like FlightAware, provided you have the flight number), and by the time he arrived in Fort Collins, there were a number of reporters gathered at the airport waiting for him.

Foley has already discussed the Florida job with McElwain - according to the Denver Post, the two spoke on the phone Friday about the vacant position.

Florida quickly identified McElwain as a 'leading candidate' after firing Will Muschamp in November. The 52-year-old Colorado State HC is 22-16 with the Rams, a program that had endured three consecutive 3-9 seasons before his arrival. Prior to coaching CSU, McElwain was Nick Saban's offensive coordinator at Alabama from 2008-2011.
