Suspended Florida Atlantic receiver Kalib Woods re-joined the football team, Owls coach Lane Kiffin announced Monday afternoon, despite two felony charges against him.
Woods was arrested in June and charged with two counts of felony battery stemming from an alleged altercation in January at a Boca Raton banquet hall. The program immediately suspended him indefinitely “pending the outcome of the charges.”
Woods’ charges are still outstanding, with a status update scheduled for Oct. 16. He pleaded not guilty and his attorney, Michael Gottlieb, filed a motion to dismiss the charges claiming a justifiable use of force under “Stand Your Ground.
