FAU allowed the Miners (21-2, 12-1 Conference USA) to jump out to an early 12-2 lead just minutes into the game.
The Owls were able to put themselves within five at the end of the first quarter, 22-17. However, they would go on to miss 20 of their next 25 shots over the next two quarters, entering the fourth quarter down 59-30.
