Without three key WRs, FAU's DeAndre McNeal becomes star of first two games

Florida Atlantic’s offense has been hit and miss in the first two weeks, exploding for big plays but also sputtering at times against Navy and Wisconsin. No player has quite represented the Owls’ dichotomy like receiver DeAndre McNeal.

McNeal, a junior college transfer who began his college career at Texas, leads the Owls with 191 receiving yards on seven catches and two touchdowns. His two scores were both long plays, a 62-yard touchdown in the opener against Navy and a 63-yard bomb on Saturday against Wisconsin.

“He’s kind of like our offense right now,” FAU coach Lane Kiffin said.
