Without starting job secured, FAU QBs Driskel, Johnson try to lead offense

Amid the swell of new faces at Florida Atlantic’s preseason camp are two familiar ones. De’Andre Johnson and Jason Driskel are back, and their names have seemingly been intertwined since Johnson arrived on campus this spring.

The pair will continue their competition to become FAU’s next quarterback throughout camp, as the Owls countdown to their Sept. 1 opener nears a month. On the field, the duo’s talents have been documented.

Driskel is the redshirt junior who started 11 games for the Owls last season. He’s the quarterback who dominated the spring game by throwing for 344 yards and three touchdowns.
