Florida Atlantic cornerback Raekwon Williams hesitated to state his answer, nervous his response would elicit laughter. Then he paused and calmly said "seven picks."
That was his personal goal for FAU's upcoming season, which begins Sept. 3 against Southern Illinois. The seven interceptions would tie a program record shared by D'Joun Smith (2013) and Tavious Polo (2007). Williams said Smith was his motivation for setting that mark.
"I want to match him," Williams said. "I got to match him, especially before I leave."
Williams did not stop there. He wants to be All-Conference USA. He wants to be an All-American.
