BOCA RATON — Scoring his record fifth rushing touchdown of the game wasn’t what had Florida Atlantic running back Devin Singletary grinning as he hit the sidelines on Saturday night.
There, beyond his ecstatic teammates and thrilled coaches, was the ultimate gift: the Touchdown Chain.
“It was fun,” the soft-spoken Singletary said. “It’s cool.”
Move over, Turnover Chain. Take a hike, Turnover Backpack. Settle down, Turnover Chainsaw. Florida Atlantic has the brightest, all-inclusive chain in not only South Florida, but all of college football.
The chain, given to players earlier this month, features a golden football featuring FAU’s logo just under the stitches.
