New Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin has landed his first recruit: former Florida State quarterback De’Andre Johnson.
According to 247 Sports, Johnson signed with the Owls on Wednesday, the first day junior college prospects are allowed to sign with schools. Johnson — who was kicked out of FSU’s program in July 2015 after video surfaced of him allegedly striking a woman in a bar — spent the last two years at East Mississippi Community College.
Johnson visited FAU this past weekend, when the Owls offered him a scholarship. He threw for 2,646 yards and 26 touchdowns at EMCC this season.
