Florida Atlantic's kickoff-return unit and redshirt freshman Kerrith Whyte looked good during FAU's loss to Miami on Saturday, averaging 29.8 yards per return.
Whyte set the Owls up with great starting field position on their opening drive, returning the kick to the FAU 38-yard line. He also notched a 34-yard return among his other four tries.
"From Week 1 to Week 2, I thought we made a lot of big improvements," special teams coordinator Chris Hurd said. "I think we got a lot of confidence in those guys back there. They obviously can run the ball and they've got some ability; tough runners.
