When Florida Atlantic named quarterback Jason Driskel the starter before the season, it had a plan in mind. It would open up big leads on its opponents and insert backup Daniel Parr to gain game experience.
In the Owls' 1-5 start to the season, those opportunities have not presented themselves to FAU. Florida Atlantic has relied on Driskel to try to win games, leaving Parr marginalized and inexperienced.
Owls coach Charlie Partridge and offensive coordinator Travis Trickett devised a plan in the week leading up to FAU's eventual 28-23 loss to Charlotte to get Parr more playing time.
