Jason Driskel played better on Saturday than he practiced during the week. It was freshman Daniel Parr who stood out in practice, and as a result, earned the start at quarterback against Rice.
Over the previous six games, Parr was getting into the game on the third series. On Saturday, Owls coach Charlie Partridge switched the order.
"Through the course of the week, Daniel earned the starting spot," Partridge said. "Driskel came in the third series and did a great job, and we let him continue with it. He remained hot and he was coaching Daniel on those first two series, and really stayed in the game the whole time.
