BOCA RATON — The fifth day of Florida Atlantic’s preseason’s football practice was the first where players wore full pads during timed scrimmages.
Defensive coordinator Roc Bellantoni said putting on full gear creates a different mindset from previous practice days.
“It’s nice to tackle since we have to do it in games,” said Bellantoni. “It’s all about fitting in the right place. On non-padded days we work more on the fundamentals liking bending the knees and finishing on the ball carrier.”
Did he notice a major difference in the way the players tackled during practice?
