Florida Atlantic is expected to decide the status of its Saturday football game against Charlotte on Friday, athletics director Pat Chun said.
In the meantime, the team will head north to Tampa to practice the next couple days at the University of South Florida while Hurricane Matthew approaches Florida's east coast.
Chun said the goal was to play the game as scheduled Saturday in Boca Raton. If the game was not able to kick off at 3:30 p.m. as planned, Chun said the start could be pushed back later in the night, or even to Sunday.
