Florida Atlantic will probably be without defensive tackle Ray Ellis for the rest of the season with a knee injury, coach Lane Kiffin said Monday afternoon.
Ellis, a redshirt junior, suffered the injury late in the second quarter against Navy’s cut-blocking, triple-option offense on Friday night and did not return to the game. Kiffin said it was the same knee Ellis injured last year during preseason camp that forced him to miss the 2016 season.
“His knee is pretty bad, so anticipation is he would probably be out for the year,” Kiffin said. “Same knee as before.
