As Florida Atlantic transitions into defensive coordinator Chris Kiffin’s defense this spring, the Owls are facing another obstacle: a dearth of linebackers.
FAU started the third week of spring football Tuesday and is dealing with a handful of injuries that have forced seldom-used players into action. Kris Harris, who played in just three games last season and recorded seven tackles, has worked with the first-team defense, alongside sophomore Rashad Smith.
Walk-on Jesse Howanitz, who switched positions from receiver in the offseason, played on the second-team with junior Jacob Douglas.
