A driveway basketball game 15 years ago is the memory that stands out for Collie Hendrickson. It was then that his son, Trey, now a senior defensive end at Florida Atlantic, displayed his competitiveness.
Trey was 6 years old when he took on his father in a one-on-one basketball game, a mismatch in age and stature that Trey did not seem to notice. Collie won. Trey lost. Then he got angry.
"I beat him and he got mad," Collie said. "He wanted to beat me at 6 years old. He was always playing hard and never saw size as an obstacle.
