At one point, Florida Atlantic linebacker Robert Relf was considered a rising star within the program.
Two years later, his playing days are over.
Because of injuries, Relf will no longer play football but remains an FAU student.
"Really, it was just getting too much to recover from," FAU coach Charlie Partridge said. "We'll miss Robert. I think a lot of him as a person and he had a lot of potential as a player."
In 2014, Relf ranked fourth on the team with 65 tackles.
