BOCA RATON — Without sounding the panic button, Florida Atlantic is officially in must-win mode.
After a heartbreaking 25-24 loss to Middle Tennessee last week, FAU (2-3, 0-1 in Conference USA) needs a win against Old Dominion (1-4, 0-2) on Saturday afternoon to have any realistic hopes of winning the C-USA East Division. More importantly, a win would give Lane Kiffin and the Owls momentum going into next week’s bye week.
“We have not been in this situation having gone 9-0 in the conference last year,” Kiffin said. “What happens is, especially when it’s someone in your division you screw up against … Now you don’t have the control to win your division.
