BOCA RATON – It’s a bad time to be a quarterback in Conference USA, especially if Florida Atlantic is on the schedule this year.
Not only do the Owls field arguably the conference’s top defense, but Lane Kiffin’s team features an experienced defensive line poised to get even better this season. Despite losing program sack leader Trey Hendrickson after the 2016 season to graduation, FAU’s defensive ends piled up 16 of the team’s 38 sacks last year. Senior Hunter Snyder has the makings of an all-conference lineman and redshirt sophomore Leighton McCarthy could be a dark horse pick for C-USA Defensive Player of the Year.
