Florida Atlantic views bowl game as opportunity to showcase its talent to the nation

For one night, the Florida Atlantic football team will own the spotlight.

On Tuesday, it plays Akron in the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl at FAU Stadium. It is the only football game of the night, so the Owls are treating it as their personal showcase. They view it as opportunity to show off their talent.

“We’re on a (winning) streak,” running back Gregory Howell Jr said. “Why mess it up? I guess we’re the only people playing on Tuesday and [we can] show the world. We still don’t have respect from the world.”

The Owls enter the game riding a nine-game winning streak, which is the second-longest in the nation behind Central Florida.
