Florida Atlantic tight end D’Anfernee McGriff could play a bigger role in the offense the remainder of the season.
McGriff is expected to receive more reps until starter Harrison Bryant fully recovers from a foot injury. Bryant, who leads the Owls with five touchdown receptions, did not play last week against Charlotte.
He is questionable for Saturday’s game against North Texas in the Conference USA title game.
“That’s why everybody’s got to be ready,” coach Lane Kiffin said.
McGriff had three receptions for 48 yards against Charlotte. It was his most productive game since arriving at FAU.
